Overview: While the consequences of the persistence of plastics have become clear over the last decade, polymers are an essential part of modern life and an indispensable tool in the advancement of energy, biology, and medicine. The Hill Lab leverages organic chemistry to develop materials and mechanisms that support a sustainable future. This includes creating new recyclable and degradable polymers and polymer networks, as well as focusing on applications in catalysis and energy storage.
Our first projects will focus on recyclable soft materials, de novo polymer-based catalyst design, and improving the degradability of radically-derived polymers.
